ABOUT US
Pond Wave is an experimental ambient band based in the Catskills of New York.
Members of the band are:
Zarah Cabañas (The Roots, Blue Man Group, City and Forest)
Matt Werden (Blue Man Group, City and Forest, A Slow Death and Loneliness)
Peter Negroponte (Guerilla Toss)
Pond Wave was originally formed to create a mood-ful sonic landscape at the Catskill wedding of Lizzie and Dom in 2022. Since then, the trio has expanded from love celebrations to performing at various events including The Deep Water Literary Festival, First Friday at New Memories, and Space Acres 40.5.30. The music project creates an otherworldly experience, fusing luscious textures and groove-ful moods with melodic vocalizations, synth-drones, effected pedal-steel explorations, and live abstract video art. The improvisational nature of the project means each performance is a unique moment in time, a sonic expression that is both difficult to describe, mysteriously familiar, and uncommonly alluring. Guest musicians have included David Christian (Mary Timony Band), and Dan Arnes (Please Enjoy Your Stay, Leapling).
